Three actors from the 1962 movie, "To Kill a Mockingbird," will share their thoughts of working with Gregory Peck and Robert Duvall on the movie set when they attend a concert at Cowley College on Saturday night.
...anyway the story continues but basically they're repeating the performance that I helped debut about 5 years ago. It's powerful music and an absolutely beautiful score. If you have never really paid attention to the music during the movie then you're missing a great deal of the movie IMHO.
I had the ultimate good fortune to be allowed to be the lead (and quite often ONLY) percussionist for the Winfield Regional Symphony during the years before I moved to Maryland. We did different symphonic works and some debuts such as this. During that time I also was fortunate to meet some wonderful people like Mary Badham, Phil Alford and Brock Peters. I miss it every day. I miss the music every day too.
