Teach ME to go to the doctor

sestreeI mean I HATE doctors - I'm never sick and I shouldn't have to go to any of them ... but ...
well, I haven't been able to read the computer screen at work lately without some rather interesting maneuvers (it can't move so I scoot back til it comes in good focus) and I've noticed the road signs are blurry so this means it's about time for my annual lets-spend-way-too-much-money-to-last-just-a-year eye exam/prescription change. Oh and the headaches got a bit much to handle....much more aspirin and if I fell down I'd need an ambulance.
Anyway this time hmmmm instead of just trying to bankrupt me they decided my cage needed rattled as well.
...ok .... backing up a second. For reasons known only to him my delightful husband decided NOT to keep the optical rider on our health insurance. He also didn't tell me until about 2 months after the fact....
...anyway... the eye doctor humms and haws and then takes me back for the just-a-little-puff-of-air-my-ass test.
then more hmmms
then we numb and put dye in the peepers.
oops
NOW I get to go see a glaucoma specialist. Yeah it's a familial thing. Grandma had it but at 40? If so it's early stages but please? 40?
....another side note - I am allergic to THC.....
I mean DAMN.
All I could do was pin the lil bugger to the wall (oh lil bugger would be the eye doctor) and make him tell me what he really thought. He said IF he HAD to make a diagnoses yeah then early stages glaucoma but he really wanted me to see a specialist first.
I told him it sucked. Well what else do you say? then I had him check for macular degeneration because Granny also had that. He said no signs of that one (thank goodness).
I'll know more when I decide I must go to the speciallist.
