sestree: (Crashed Sebastian)

Before you ask, no I don't have pictures yet. I'm letting her get settled in first. We've only had her for a few days

We now have a Penelope - a 2 year old gray and black striped female tabby. We adopted her through PetSmart (Last Chance animal rescue). When we saw her weekend before last she would rub and rub against the glass whenever someone came past. She sooo wanted to go home with somebody. Anyway I talked myself out of it and figured as friendly as she seemed to be she'd have a home FAST.

I was wrong.

We went back last weekend to get Sebatian a harnass and she was still there. She was all mopy and sad though and just sat and didn't even try to interact anymore - until she saw Sebastian then she perked up somewhat. (yes I brought my cat to petsmart - I was not about to try to get a harnass for him without sizing it on him first).

Long story short - we went home, dropped Sebastian off, went back, asked to see her and she perked up a little bit more. Needless to say she came home with us.

It's taken her a little bit to settle in but she has done pretty good. The first night she sat and watched me all night - so much for MY sleep. Now she sleeps here and there and virtually everywhere. There's a bit of an issue with just who gets my side of the bed so they trade off every so often. No fights though *big whew*

All in all she's a nice addition to our growing menagerie LOL.

She is such a pretty little girl but it's cute - she doesn't take any crap off of any of the other cats either. She just glares them down LOL

I can’t wait to see pictures of her. It sounds like she has found a wonderful and loving home. I am glad you were able to provide it for her.

I'm glad we had the cash to do it. Yes it's tax deductible and for a good cause but it's certainly not cheap to adopt through them. We have a total of 4 in the house now: Robert's blue gray, Archimedes, who stays in his room and doesn't come out much, Mom's manx cross, Sarge, who stays in her room and plays mostly upstairs, Sebastian, my black and white tuxedo who roams everywhere and our new little girl Penelope. She's getting where she roams more too.

awww!!!

I'm more a dog person myself but after we had to put Lady (my doberman) to sleep I decided no more dogs.

The cats are growing on me as well :)

oh HA

I asked this really nice VERY HUMBLE person who lives with me what he thought and he's such a kind hearted soul he said yes.

Did I mention he's cute as a bug's ear?
